The Hope Centre is our new social ministries hub in the centre of Cramlington on Forum Way. It aims to provide us with a base to be able to go out and provide for the community and to plant the seed of faith. A number of services have already moved into the building and we have many more plans to follow!
Cramlington Food Bank
Cramlington Food Bank is now based in the Hope Centre. The food bank is a much-needed resource relying on contributions from local businesses and donations from the public and is run under the Trussell Trust umbrella. Donations of food can be made in Sainsbury's Cramlington, ASDA Cramlington or at the Hope Centre on Forum Way. For more details please contact Joyce Docherty on 01670 737808.
Here is a list of typical items we are in need of: Sugar, UHT Milk, Sweetcorn, Meatballs, Carrots, Corned Beef, Sardines, Instant Mash, Pot Noodles, Crisps, Deodorants, Shampoo, Toothpaste, Toothbrushes, Sweets, Cleaning Products, Toilet Rolls, Mens' Toiletries, strong Carrier Bags, (not baked beans! - we have so many we give them away to other food banks).
School Holiday Lunch Scheme
Over the summer the Cramlington churches in collaboration with the Hope Centre provided over 1500 packed lunches for pupils who would normally receive free school meals. These were available each day at the Hope Centre on Forum Way.
We aim to provide the same service during the October school holidays - lunches can be collected from 12 noon each day, Monday to Friday.
The lunches are made fresh each day. Please get in touch with the Hope Centre if you would like to help out.
Hope Centre Uniform Bank
Kids often grow out of school uniform before it's worn out, and it's expensive to keep buying the next size up. If you would like to pass on your grown-out-of uniform (in reasonable condition), or you're in need of uniform, please take a look at the group's facebook page. Donations of uniform are received at the Hope Centre during normal opening hours.
Friendship in Grief
A new service providing support to the lonely and bereaved has recently started at Hope Centre. The weekly meetings are on Tuesdays at 1.30pm and Fridays at 10.30am. You are welcome to come along and share some time and a cuppa with others.
