Jesus said,"I have come that they (you) may have life abundantly"
For many, that desire to begin again, particularly at this time of uncertainty,
of bleakness and for some, pointlessness, prompts them to think outside of the box.
For so long, people who have been looking for God, have been given church instead.
The purpose of RE:FRESH is not to encourage people to "do" church, but to connect them directly to God through Jesus.
So in summary, the plan is to replace Church with Jesus.
So how will we do do this? One of the core team, Deborah explains;
What is it?
A new relaxed and informal event starting here on Sunday 22nd Jan 2023 and at 4pm every Sunday after that.
Who is it aimed at?
Everyone is welcome! Maybe you go to church already but just want a refresh of what church looks like, maybe you’ve never been to church before or maybe you’ve not been for a while and would like to come back and try something a little different. We’d love to see you there!
What will happen when I’m there?
Firstly, there will be a short welcome & introduction to this week’s theme.
Following this there will be a longer and more informal time where you can get a hot drink and biscuit etc and sit and relax and chat.
During this time there will be some stations around the church you can pop over to if you wish - these will change slightly each week but will include things like craft, mental well-being, discussion, opportunity to write down a prayer etc.
To close we will have another short time together with a brief closing prayer around the week’s theme.
Do I have to join in with the activity stations?
No! You can join in with as much or as little as you like. If you’d just like to come along, have a cuppa and a biscuit, and just sit & relax, that’s absolutely fine!
Can children come along?
Definitely! We are family friendly and welcome people of all ages. There will be an area for smaller children to play and we will also have an activity suitable for children age 3 ish and up on one of the stations each week. Although your children will be always supervised by you, the team members leading this station are all DBS checked and have completed safeguarding training. There are toilets on the premises with a changing table. You are welcome to breastfeed at any time.
Where is it?
St Nicholas Church, Blagdon Terrace, Cramlington, NE23 6QQ
Located in the old village square next to the Plough pub and the cenotaph.
Where can I park?
There is a free car park just across the road from the church. There is also some space to park round the back of the church although we would ask you to considerate and not park outside people’s houses where possible.
Do I need to dress smartly?
No! You can wear whatever you feel comfortable in.
Who do I contact if I have any questions about the event?
Please feel free to email Peter at pj1maxwell@aol.com with any questions you may have.
