Little Fishes

Little Fishes

Little fishes is an informal group which meets in St. Nicholas’ Church every Monday in term time.  We start at 9:30am with some play time for the children and some chat time for the parents and carers. At 10am we then start our 'mini-service' where we have a story time, songs, craft and prayers. We close with tea and toast and chat, finishing around 11 o'clock. The group is centred around worshipping God and sharing Christian values but you do not need to be a member of the church to attend.

The group is very relaxed and run by Mums. While it officially starts at 9:30am there is no need to be prompt - we all understand how difficult running to a timetable can be with children!  Everyone, from Mums and Dads to Foster Parents and Child Minders, is welcome to join us, and we hope to see you there!

We ask for a small donation of £1 per family to help cover costs for the craft, heating and refreshments.

Little Fishes is led by Jen Wealleans.

Big Fishes

Children are welcome at all the family Sunday services offered by the three churches.

At St. Nicholas' Church the children's group is called Big Fishes, and meets during the Sunday 10am service. Children go to their group after the opening songs and return during the Peace.

A supervised crèche for toddlers and soft toys for babies are available at St Nicholas' Church during the Sunday 10am service.

For more details about Big Fishes please contact Jen Wealleans.

Children's Groups at St. Andrew's and St. Peter's

Sunday School for children aged 3 and above is offered weekly at St Andrew's Church. Please contact Ruth Brierley for more information about St. Andrew's children's work.

At St. Peter's the services are generally child-friendly and so children tend to remain in the main service.

Cafe Church at St. Peter's attracts families and children from across the parish to take part in social and craft activities during the services with refreshments.
